Digipak Mock ups

I have started to come up with a couple of mock ups for my digipak's all taking rather different approaches to the production. I have decided that I would like to make the digipak an album, and i have decided to call it Fearless one of Taylor Swifts other songs. I will make the song I have completed the second track and include to the side Music Video included with this album, just so that the audience knows this is the song i used for my music video.

I decided to make the album name different from the original song that i did was because of the length of the song title. I felt like to was far too long for me to write it on the album and for it to make the impact that I had imagined.

Here are the digipaks I have designed so far,k in order from the first I designed to the last-

To get the opinion of the target audience, I will conduct a series of targetede research tasks. I want to make sure that the album cover is right as this will be at the forefront of the auidences attension, as this is what will atract them to buy the album. So i will be doing a random sample survey of people asking what cover they like and why, and any improvements they would make. I would do this however, in a controlled environment like school. This is so that the feedback I get is from the right target audience.

Next I will gather a few people up randomly to conduct a focus grpoup. This will be a discussion based on the album cover and will be a general feelings and improvements meeting. I feel that both a survey and a quenstionaire would be appropriate as I will be getting more information from a variety of socuces and with therefore get a more balanced opinion. I will therefore get a mixture of quantitve and quantitative data, which will also  be more acurate to analyse.

Feedback from my rough cut

I have had some feedback on my rough cut from a few people. This was a random sample of people that I had asked about my music video. The results were as follows-

Good Points
1. Shot lengths were on average very good and short enough so that the audience wouldn't get bored
2.The locations were very good and there was enough locations to provide a mixture
3. The audience liked the links to the genre, like the uses of green.
4. The audience liked the fact that there were uses of different colours like black and white and Sepia.

Ways to improve
1. Some of the timing in the lip sync was slightly out in the beginning and needs to be addressed.
2. Remove the black spot towards the end of the music video when the screen goes blank
3. Some of the shots used could be shortened slightly
4. Maybe another location could be added in from the original stating point.
5. When the 4 screens are on show with the face in the middle, the bars on the right hand edge of the screen needs to be edited out to match the left side.

Dated:18/1/14
Progress from the starting point
I had some people in my target audience look at my video and it was suggested that I would add in a new location. To achieve this I have added in a couple of scenes from a rock. This enabled a slight differentiation within locations, but it also kept to the genre of the music video and inline with all the other locations I had used.

Digipak Inspiration and First Digipak Draft

In order for me to create a digipak, I wanted to get some inspiration. This was me looking at different albums and singles covers. However, looked at Taylor Swifts website and it had a page with all of her singles and albums on it. This has helped me to look at all of the different ones and look at the motifs used to try and establish my own motif for my video and digipak.

I had made a first draft of a digipak, but when I look at the ones on display on this webpage I know I need to come up with a better one. Below is my first draft.
